枕草子 − ［一段］（春はあけぼの）[Pasaje 1] (En la primavera, el amanecer)
En primavera, el amanecer. Pedazo a pedazo, va aclarando la ladera de la montaña y se ilumina un poco. Las nubes, con toques violetas, se alargan delgadas.
夏は夜、月の頃はさらなり、闇もなほ蛍とびちがひたる、雨などの降るさへをかし。
En verano, la noche. Cuando hay luna, se intensifica, pero también en la oscuridad, con las luciérnagas revoloteando, incluso si cae lluvia, se saborea.
秋は夕暮れ、夕日はなやかにさして、山の端いと近くなりたるに、鳥のねどころへ行くとて、三つ四つ二つなンど飛びゆくさへあはれなり。まいて雁などのつらねたるが、いとちひさく見ゆる、いとをかし。日入りはてて、風の音、蟲のねなンど、いとあはれなり。
En otoño, la tarde. El sol del atardecer brilla chispeante, cuando se está acercando mucho a la cima de la montaña, los pájaros van a sus dormitorios, me impresiona incluso los vuelos de 3, 4, 2 pájaros, por no hablar de unos gansos que se ven muy pequeñitos, haciendo fila, que me conmueven bastante. El sol termina de ocultarse, y el sonido del viento, el sonido de los insectos, crean una gran atmósfera.
冬はつとめて。雪の降りたるは、いふべきにもあらず。霜ンなどのいと白く、またさらでもいと寒き火なンど急ぎおこして、炭もてわたるも、いとつきづきし。晝になりて、ぬるくゆるびもてゆけば、炭櫃火桶の火も白き灰がちになりぬるはわろし。
En invierno, temprano. Sobra mencionar la nieve que cae. La intensa blancura de la escarcha y todo, y el frío incluso más intenso. Tanto que hay que apurarse a prender el fuego, ir por el carbón. El medio día trae suavidad tibiamente, pero el carbón de los calentadores –cuadrados, redondos– tiende a hacerse blanca ceniza, y se ve mal.

She's describing her favorite moments of the seasons. I don't know much about Japanese poetry forms, but these sentences have a rhythm. Of course, when I think about it, language has a way to find rhythm. It makes me ask myself about the rhythmical needs of human beings. And how do we connect through those. She plays with the colors. It's actually pretty easy to look for images of these descriptions, just by using as key words the first phrases (「春はあけぼの」 /haru wa akebono/, 夏は夜 /natsu wa yoru/). I can feel her attention to the senses, just as if it was mine.
